Last draft update: 2026-05-31
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") form a binding agreement between you ("you", "rider") and the operator of the RoadVane motorcycle riding app ("RoadVane", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using RoadVane in any other way, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms, by the Privacy Policy, and by the Safety Disclaimer. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Who Operates RoadVane
RoadVane is currently operated as a sole proprietorship by Seifeldean Ahmed, based in Cairo, Egypt. References to "we" / "us" / "our" / "the operator" refer to that sole proprietor.
The operator intends to incorporate a limited-liability company in the near future (provisionally "RoadVane LLC") and to transfer the Service, its assets, and the operator's rights and obligations under these Terms to that entity. By using RoadVane you consent to that transfer in advance. When the transfer takes effect we will reissue these Terms identifying the company as the contracting party. The transfer will not weaken your rights under these Terms.
2. Where RoadVane Is Offered
RoadVane is offered in Egypt, the Gulf Cooperation Council countries (UAE, KSA, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar), and selected other non-EU and non-UK markets where Apple and Google distribute the app.
RoadVane is not currently offered to, marketed to, or intended for residents of the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland. By accepting these Terms you confirm that you are not a resident of those territories at the time of acceptance. We may add those markets later through a supplementary GDPR / UK GDPR notice.
3. The Service
RoadVane provides motorcycle ride planning, group ride coordination, live ride tracking, friend features, maintenance reminders, push notifications, push-to-talk voice channels, and beta-quality Crash Assistance and SOS features. We may add, change, or remove features at any time. Crash Assistance is described as "assistance" rather than "detection" because the feature attempts to help — it does not guarantee detection of any specific crash.
4. Eligibility And Age
To use RoadVane you must:
- Be at least 18 years old. RoadVane is not available to anyone under 18.
- Be legally able to ride or participate in motorcycle ride coordination in your location, with any required motorcycle licence, registration, insurance, and helmet/safety equipment.
- Comply with all applicable traffic, road-safety, mobile-device-use, helmet, and licensing laws.
- Reside outside the territories listed in Section 2.
Age is confirmed by self-declaration at sign-up. Providing a false age is a breach of these Terms.
5. Your Account
You are responsible for the accuracy of account, profile, bike, and safety-contact information. You must not impersonate another person, choose misleading handles, or use another person's personal data without permission. You are responsible for the security of your credentials. Notify us promptly at support@roadvane.com if you suspect unauthorised use.
You may operate only one RoadVane account for yourself. Operating multiple accounts to evade restrictions or moderation is prohibited.
6. Safety
RoadVane is not a substitute for rider judgment, safe riding practices, emergency services, road conditions, traffic laws, route verification, motorcycle maintenance, or professional rescue. Users must not interact with the app in a way that distracts from riding. The full conditions are set out in the Safety Disclaimer, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
7. Beta Safety Features — Crash Assistance, SOS, Nearby Alerts
Crash Assistance, the SOS countdown, nearby crash alerts, and emergency-friend notifications (together, "Beta Safety Features") are experimental, beta-quality features. They are not detection systems and they are not emergency services.
By enabling or using any Beta Safety Feature you acknowledge and agree that:
- The Beta Safety Features are experimental and may fail at any time, for any reason — including but not limited to sensor limitations, permissions, battery state, network coverage, OS restrictions, push delivery limits, and backend outages.
- RoadVane makes no promise that any Beta Safety Feature will recognise any specific crash, deliver any specific notification, produce any specific outcome, or save any life.
- You will not rely on any Beta Safety Feature as your primary safety mechanism. You will continue to ride safely regardless of whether a Beta Safety Feature is active.
- You and any emergency contact must independently call the local public emergency number for any actual emergency.
- You assume the risk of any failure of any Beta Safety Feature.
- You release RoadVane (the operator and any future RoadVane LLC) from any liability arising out of the failure, delay, false positive, missed event, or unavailability of any Beta Safety Feature, subject only to mandatory law that cannot be excluded.
RoadVane does not contact police, ambulance, fire, roadside assistance, or any other official emergency service. In an emergency, users should contact the applicable local emergency number first (122 / 123 / 180 in Egypt, 999 / 998 in the UAE, 997 in KSA, 911 in North America).
The full conditions are in the Crash Assistance and SOS Disclaimer, incorporated into these Terms by reference.
8. Location And Sharing
By using live rides, ride planning, route history, crash/SOS, or nearby crash alerts, you understand that location data may be collected and shared according to app settings and ride context. Group ride and live ride participants may see location or ride status information as needed for the ride.
9. Voice Channels
When you join an active voice channel, your microphone audio is transmitted in real time to the other members of that channel. Audio is not stored on RoadVane servers. You must not use voice channels for harassment, threats, hate speech, sexually explicit content, or any unlawful content. You are responsible for compliance with any applicable recording-consent laws if you choose to record a voice channel using a separate tool.
10. User Content And Conduct
You are responsible for content you create or share, including names, handles, group names, ride names, route labels, stop labels, poll content, profile content, bike photos, and voice channel speech.
You must not post or share content that is unlawful, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, exploitative, threatening, deceptive, dangerous, privacy-invasive, infringing, spam, or malware. You must not use RoadVane to encourage unsafe riding, evade traffic enforcement, or coordinate illegal activity.
We may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that, in our reasonable judgement, violate these Terms, the Community Guidelines, or applicable law. Where appropriate we will give you notice and the opportunity to respond, but we may act immediately where we believe doing so is necessary to protect rider safety or comply with the law.
11. Routes, Maps, And Third-Party Services
Map, route, search, and geocoding results may be incomplete or inaccurate. You must verify routes and road conditions independently. Third-party services integrated into RoadVane (Supabase, Apple Push Notification Service, Firebase Cloud Messaging, Expo, OpenStreetMap, Photon, OSRM, LocationIQ) have their own terms, limits, outages, and data practices.
12. Intellectual Property
RoadVane owns or licenses its app, brand assets, logos, design system, documentation, and software except for open-source or third-party assets. You may not use RoadVane marks without our prior written consent. You retain ownership of your own lawful user content. By submitting user content you grant RoadVane a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable licence to host, process, display, distribute, and share that content as needed to operate and improve the Service.
13. Account Deletion And Suspension
You may delete your account at any time through the in-app Delete Account flow. Deletion is described in the Privacy Policy. Some records may be retained where required for security, legal, fraud-prevention, backup, or operational reasons.
We may suspend or terminate your access immediately, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe that you have violated these Terms or applicable law, that continued access endangers other riders, or that we are required to do so by law.
14. Subscriptions And Billing
RoadVane is currently offered free of charge. If we introduce paid plans in the future:
- The applicable plan, billing cycle, and price will be presented before checkout. Prices will be exclusive of VAT or other applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.
- Subscriptions will auto-renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the next renewal.
- Cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing period; no pro-rated refund will be offered for the unused portion unless required by applicable consumer-protection law.
- Subscriptions purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play will be billed by Apple or Google. Refund requests for those transactions must be made through the relevant storefront.
- We may change pricing with at least 30 days advance notice.
We will give riders advance notice (by in-app notification and email) before activating paid plans.
15. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, RoadVane and the operator disclaim all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, accurate, error-free, or that defects will be corrected. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any location, route, sensor, or third-party data. We do not warrant that emergency, SOS, Crash Assistance, or voice features will detect, deliver, escalate, or transmit reliably.
16. Limitation Of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the operator and any future RoadVane LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages — including damages for lost profits, lost data, personal injury, property damage, or loss of goodwill — arising from or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Service, even if advised of the possibility.
Our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service is limited to the greater of (a) one hundred US dollars (USD 100, or the Egyptian Pound equivalent) or (b) the maximum amount permitted by applicable mandatory law.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation.
17. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the operator (and any future RoadVane LLC) and its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from or related to (a) your use of the Service, (b) your user content, (c) your breach of these Terms, or (d) your violation of applicable law or the rights of a third party.
18. Governing Law And Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Mandatory consumer-protection law of your country of residence continues to apply where applicable.
Before filing any claim, you agree to attempt to resolve the dispute informally by contacting us at legal@roadvane.com. We will attempt to resolve disputes informally within 60 days. If we cannot, any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be brought exclusively in the competent courts of Cairo, Egypt, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts. Claims must be brought in your individual capacity and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class or representative proceeding.
19. Changes To These Terms
We may modify these Terms from time to time. Material updates will be communicated with at least 30 days advance notice via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the Service after the effective date is acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not accept, you must stop using the Service and may close your account.
20. Miscellaneous
- Entire agreement: these Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, Safety Disclaimer, Community Guidelines, and any plan-specific terms, are the entire agreement between you and us.
- Severability: if any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.
- No waiver: our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of that provision.
- Assignment: you may not assign these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms to an affiliate or successor in connection with a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, or the incorporation transaction described in Section 1.
- Notices: we may give notice by email to the address associated with your account, by in-app message, or by posting on the website.
- Force majeure: neither party is liable for delays or failures due to events beyond reasonable control (acts of God, war, terrorism, network outages, governmental orders).
